Saw Palmetto Shown Not to Work for the Prostate? (Update) PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dr. Edward Zimmer

Here we go again. Another study that muddies the waters was published in The New England Journal of Medicine with the conclusion that saw palmetto did not work for people with MODERATE to SEVERE prostate problems. But, what about all of the studies that show a benefit from taking this herb for the very same problem?

Here is the problem with the most recent negative study. They used a dose that was shown to be effective for those with mild prostate problems. The authors of this study even suggested that a higher dose should be studied. So, does this study show that saw palmetto is worthless for prostate problems? Not at all! It simply suggests that those with moderate to severe problems should consider taking a higher dose than 160 mg taken twice a day.

But the damage has been done. Every medical doctor in the U.S. is now aware of this study and will start telling their patients that saw palmetto has been shown not to work. You now know better.

We carry very high quality saw palmetto found in our product: Prostatrol Forte
