HGH (Human Growth Hormone) Supplements: Yes or No (Update) PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dr. Edward Zimmer

Many companies tout the benefits of taking Human Growth Hormone supplements. In fact, the list of supposed benefits is staggering and includes reducing wrinkles, more energy, leaner body mass, improved sex, lower cholesterol, stronger muscles, clearer vision, and many, many more. All of this is done with ZERO side-effects. Are these claims true or just a bunch of bull? Let’s take a look.

Growth hormone is produced in your brain. Production NATURALLY declines in EVERYONE with age. A ten year old makes about 2,000 mcg/day and 40 year old makes only 325 mcg/day. Is it a good idea to unnaturally increase levels? I do not know the answer to this but my guess is no.

Nonetheless, the real question is whether these supplements actually work. Every company selling these supplements mentions research that supports the use of their supplement. Let me tell you that there is NO independent research that supports the use of these supplements. Please, if you think I am wrong I urge you to challenge me and show me the study. Most companies use studies that show benefits from the actual injection of HGH into patients who were deficient in the hormone. Injections circumvent the natural process of making the hormone.

So take a moment to think about the fact that EVERYONE’s level of HGH decreases with age naturally. These companies would have you think that taking a couple of vitamins and herbs would cause UNNATURAL increases in this hormone in your body. Even if this is true I sincerely doubt that would be a good thing. This hormone is reduced in everyone for a reason. Who are we to say God made a mistake.

Verdict: Do not waste your time or money.
